Brand New Flavor is here!

At midnight Eastern, Brand New Flavor released from Dreamspinner Press!

I’m so excited about this novella, featuring an artisan ice cream maker and a food critic and set in San Francisco. Though it was written a few years ago, when I revised and expanded it, I got to do some research at a local sorbet shop, Scream Sorbet in Oakland CA. I took much of how Jay experiments with flavors and how he runs his business from what I learned there. I also spoke with several chefs about whether the flavor combinations I made up would actually work, and while they agreed the would taste great, I couldn’t convince anyone to actually make them!

Maybe someone out there will email to tell me they tried and let me know how they taste!

Or I may just have to start making ice cream at home.

Don’t forget to enter my giveaway over at Facebook (say you’re GOING to be entered), and find out more about Brand New Flavor and read an except. Or just buy the darn thing. (Amazon and ARe links).

I just bought and read “Brand New Flavor”. I love it! I love your description of the ice cream I could almost taste it and I really like the story. Although I knew the possibility of happy ending was very high, I was still very anxious when I read about Eric and Dorothea. I must admit that I cheated by reading the last page of the story (to calm my nerves).

I can’t wait for the next story. It’s going to be series, right? are you going to write about Cam and Jay again or different characters? Do you have plans for Eric? I think he has a potential to be a good person, although he need some growing up to do.

      Hi Nemo,
I’m so glad you enjoyed the story! Writing about the ice cream was such fun. I tried to imagine what my perfect flavor would taste like and try to make that come through.

You have surprised me by asking about Eric. I noticed people wanted to know more about Peter, Reed’s ex in Italian Ice, even though I wouldn’t exaggerate to say I hated the guy. I did make Eric a little bit softer than his original incarnation, and yes, you are right he does need to grow up and work on his own issues before he could be a good BF to someone else.

The next two books in the series are about different characters, and so far there is no overlap, but I would love to revisit Cam and Jay and see how they’re doing now they’ve found each other again and Jay is learning to trust someone. Maybe Paul Rhodes will make another appearance. Do you think he might be a good match for Eric?

      LOL,
      EM
