Digging my way out

I'm slowly trying to dig my way out of a black hole of no social interaction. I've hardly posted at all for the past month and I can't understand where all the time went!

I had a great time during SF Pride Week, with '[info]'engel82 visiting from Vancouver. Then after she went home, it seemed to be a non-stop two weeks of editing and re-editing. I've got two releases scheduled for the last weekend of July, and I had no idea how much time all the pre-release activity would take up. With two big writing deadlines for September (and two big releases in December as a result) I'm sort of panicking now.

So one thing I've learned from all of this: two releases at the same time means all the editing and proofing pretty much happens at once. And proofing 85k takes a lot longer than just reading 85k of someone else's work. Multiply that times two.

Then, try to fit writing two novels into the mix, and it's easy to see why blogging has taken a backseat to everything else. I'm still staring at thousands of unanswered emails.

And then, I've got to do promo on the new releases. Twice the effort while still trying to avoid making the universe sick of my name. I'm seriously considering hiring someone to do my promo. Got a suggestion of anyone you think does a great job?
