I’m sharing a snippet from Hostile Takeover a recent release from Dreamspinner Press. It was voted 3rd place in Goodreads M/M Romance Group’s Favorite Enemies to Lovers category.
The more time they spent together, the easier it became for Mathias to decide he really liked Chase. Mathias had been attracted to men before, though he’d never actually done more than a little bit of fairly harmless fooling around once or twice. It seemed Chase Richards was destined to be the first for anything more serious.
They sat on the small couch in front of the television, their thighs nearly touching as they watched the DVD of épée practice. Chase paused the DVD for Mathias’s opinion on his work with épée, Mathias’s strongest weapon. Chase was more adept with the saber, and the two weapons had different strategies and moves.
Mathias was in the middle of making a suggestion, Chase’s gaze on his face, taking in every word with rapt attention, when suddenly, Chase leaned in and kissed Mathias. A soft, slightly lingering kiss, but more than enough to get Chase’s point across. Though it had taken Mathias by surprise, he was aware of the light pressure of Chase’s lush, full lips, the prickly feel of stubble, but mostly the way as soon as Chase broke contact Mathias wanted more and he wanted it immediately.
Mathias didn’t even speak, just leaned in toward Chase, saying everything with his eyes, and when their mouths met again, Mathias’s hand instinctively went toward Chase’s head, pulling him in closer. Chase straddled Mathias’s lap, one muscular thigh on each side of Mathias’s, pressing against his legs, sending brand new signals up and down the length of his body. Their tongues met and tangled, exploring each other’s mouths, gently at first, and then with increasing ardor. Mathias fought the urge to crush Chase against him. He’d never wanted to be this close to anyone before. Chase’s arms held tight, the muscles gliding beneath the skin and only thin cotton separating their bodies.

Fantastic snippet E.M.:) I love how Mathias realized there would be more and then Chase took the initiative.
Thank you so much, Thianna! I really love these two and the book was such fun to write, getting them to fall in love then pulling them apart and finally getting them back together.
