Thanks for stopping by!
Beta readers are worth their weight in if not gold, cheesecake. You can really help take a manuscript to the next level with comments and spotting problems when I’m just to close to the work to see it myself.
So I’m on the lookout for a set of beta readers I can call on for occasional help from proofreading to helping with plot issues, characterization and a variety of content and editing issues. I’m looking for more than missing commas and light copyediting.
While this is not a paid position, I can offer undying gratitude, acknowledgement in the published work, a free copy of the final version, and perhaps even a character with your name if you so desire.
I write gay (male/male) erotic romance, so if you have any aversion to reading about men having sex with each other, this won’t be a good fit for you.
Requirements: excellent knowledge of English, Microsoft Word (especially Track Changes function), and the ability to work to a specific schedule or communicate when there is any sort of delay. I am in California, so if there is any time zone issue, please let me know.
If you’re considering doing some editing work and need to build up a list of books you’ve worked on, this is a great opportunity.
Still interested? Please download the Beta Reader Application (DOCX file), which is a short sample of a first draft for you to edit so you can show your stuff.
Thanks so much, and please email me directly if you have any questions.
