A couple of weeks ago Book 1 in the Delectable series, Brand New Flavor, was released by Dreamspinner Press. Since then I’ve had several emails from readers asking when the next book in the series will come out, because they don’t want to buy Book 1 until they know there will be more.
That’s a logical question. I know as a reader I don’t want to get hooked on a couple and then be left hanging at the end of Book 1 and have to wait ages (or forever) for the rest of their story. And who hasn’t gotten hooked on a TV show that gets canceled leaving you hanging on a cliffhanger?
The good news is that the Delectable series isn’t going to do that. Each book is a standalone story about a different couple. What links the books together is that every story features a character in the food or wine business. Each story has an ending and a resolution of the romance. Some characters might turn up in other books in the series, or have another adventure later on, but you’ll be perfectly satisfied that they get their HEA or HFN the first time around. If you like Andrew Grey’s Taste of Love series about food, or Shira Anthony’s Blue Notes series featuring men in the world of classical music, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
Brand New Flavor, Book 1 is set in San Francisco, about an ice cream artisan and a food critic. Book 2, called Lighting the Way Home and co-written with Shira Anthony, comes out in March and is set in New York City, featuring a chef. Book 3, Crush, is set in Napa Valley where the main character is a winemaker. I don’t have a release date yet for Crush, but I’m expecting it in May or June.
And I certainly wouldn’t mind if you email to tell me you want to hear more about any of the couples who get together in the Delectable books. I’d love to write more about any of them!
