In no time at all they stood side by side staring down at the water below, illuminated by the pool lights, shimmering and blue. Josh looked over at Micah, who was smiling.

“Ready?” Micah asked.

Josh took another breath. He was panting, but not because of the climb–being here with Micah that left him breathless. Even drunk, he knew one word, one wrong look would ruin everything. Josh willed his brain and body to behave. “Yeah. Ready.”
