#Poll Does Stormy Weather Make Good Romance? (#giveaway #mmromance)

It’s been pouring here in Northern California. We’re in a drought situation, so we really need it, but it’s no fun driving in the rain. I love hearing the rain on the roof when I’m snug and warm at home.

Of course extreme weather can offer some nice opportunities for romance. I have a scene in Rarer Than Rubies where the main characters are stuck in a little hut during a monsoon rain. Talk about setting the mood. It worked perfectly for Trent and Reed–it was their first time together, way back when.  In Snow Job, my two boys are stuck in a cabin for Christmas when the power goes out and they have to keep each other warm. Then Zack and Monty go a few steps farther and it’s sizzling!

What kind of weather do you think makes the best setting for romance, and why? Leave a comment for a chance  to win a copy of your choice of Rarer Than Rubies (hot in Thailand) or Snow Job (Christmas in a cold climate).

A snowstorm! Curl up in front of the fire…so romantic.

  2. JenCW says:

Snow storm. Cuddling in front of fires. Hit chocolate. Playing in the snow if you want and then warming back up.

I was on a date with this guy, riding on the back of his motorcycle and we got caught in a rainstorm. We made it back to his house, and we were in the garage and we were soaking wet and I was shivering and then it got sexy. So, rainstorms for the win. 19 year old me was really awesome. I’m really happy for her.

Snowstorm – great for snuggling. Not that I would know from experience. My part of Florida hardly ever gets snow. :-/

  5. Stef says:

Snow Storm, oh yes. Snuggling together on the couch under a blanket in front of a roaring fire. Roasting Marshmallows over said fire and drinking hot chocolate.

  6. A snow storm, totally. Snowed in, a fireplace, keeping each other warm, hot chocalate, snuggling and more!

  7. Denise Dechene says:

Snowstorm for sure. It’s cold out. The electricity may or may not be on. You’re cuddled together on the sofa or be. Hands are running over each other to create circulation, but it turns sensual. Both bodies heat up.

  8. Laurel says:

I think the situation needs to be severe like big snow storm, major earthquake, severe rain with flooding , tornado or hurricane would be realistic conditions that could result in guys being stranded together in isolated conditions – all of these would work .

  9. Susan says:

I’ve been snowed in and survived several hurricanes and will take snow every time!
