I just sent RARER THAN RUBIES off the editor. I’m so happy to be finished with this project, and I’m definitely pleased with the result. It’s about 66K, which is significantly longer than I’d planned, but any shorter and it would have felt rushed in the resolution of the storylines. I went through a phase where I hated this book, and the characters, but now I don’t want to say goodbye to them!
If I didn’t have several other projects past deadline, I’d already be plotting a sequel!
I had a lot of setbacks and problems in RL while working on this, so this finish is a real accomplishment. Usually, I’m not this overjoyed about completing a particular piece. It’s also the longest work I’ve done for a while, so excuse me for getting excited.
I want to especially thank the beta readers who read, commented, answered questions and then more questions while I fine-tuned some aspects of the piece. Except for one person who didn’t care for it, I got overwhelmingly positive reactions and a lot of great feedback and suggestions. I could never have finished without you.
I’d been thinking about how to celebrate, and I think chocolate is going to figure in somehow. How do you like to celebrate a big accomplishment?
Congrats!!
Flourless dark chocolate cake, beer, and good friends. 🙂
